We are BLM & H St. Co-op, a group founded to unite the voices of the movement for social justice and amplify those voices. Metropolitan Police Department (DC Police) and other executive agencies have been targeting peaceful protestors to silence their voices. This fund is to ensure that those being targeted by the government will receive adequate legal representation so that they may continue speaking out against injustices. So far, the list of charges include inciting a riot (felony) and riot act (misdemeanor). We are estimating legal fees to be anywhere between $3,000-$5,000 per case. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will go directly to legal aid for those wrongfully charged by the government.
