Teenagers in the 21st century are surrounded by pressures, opportunities, and demands unlike those of any generation before them.  Competing options about how they spend their time often prevent them from thinking holistically, and as a result they too often have a narrow view of the world and God’s calling for them in it.

Spark of Hope exists to enlighten young minds to a broader world view through experiences and education.  We serve God on key global issues, and in doing so help foster a perspective that encourages global citizenry.

Though we are concerned about people everywhere, we focus on discreet areas of interest.  We seek to serve developing and emerging geographies and the needs present there.  We seek to meet the needs of children. We seek to support the activities of other faith-based organizations—though not a requirement for all partners—to glorify God.  We seek to lead programs that educate and give student the opportunity to serve through diverse work projects.  We seek to be agile enough to serve our local partners’ needs.  We seek to “teach a man to fish” and also to “provide a helping hand” to organizations that need support to reach stability.

Our service trips provide 7-21 day opportunities for students and adult leaders to serve local needs, while learning about global issues and discerning God’s plan for us in addressing them.  In our additional educational activities we use a variety of media to highlight societal problems and interventions to address them.

The awareness of pressing social issues, the opportunity to learn and serve, and the examination of them in the context of God’s provision is a powerful calling for our organization.
