Medical Expenses for Ansis Sopha
Donation protected
My name is Angelo Sopha, and I am writing to you as the parent of my 12-year-old son, Ansis Sopha. Ansis has been courageously battling cancer, and I am reaching out to seek your support during this challenging time.
Ansis is a vibrant and spirited young boy who has shown immense strength and resilience throughout his treatment. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, he faces, he continues to inspire those around him with his bravery and determination.
In 2017 MIOT hospital first diagnosed a blocked ureter, whereby through keyhole surgery, a bypass was done. He was ok for the next two years till late March 2020, when he started to face some complications, with abdominal pains and he was taken to the doctor once again. A mass covering one side of his kidney was identified. Through assistance by the Seychelles’ Government, he was sent to Hemas Hospital in Sri Lanka during the Covid 19 Pandemic, where the diagnosis was stage 3 critical, Wilms tumor, which covered one side of his whole kidney. He underwent a first operation, in June 2020, but as the tumor was attached to the kidney, the operation could not be completed. He was given further chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor, which was 13cm. He underwent another major operation in August 2020, 2 months later, where the left kidney was removed along with the tumor. He underwent radiotherapy and chemo in Sri Lanka, and in October 2020, he returned to Seychelles, after 5 months of treatment, where he continued his chemotherapy until February 2021. He returned to school, continuing his life repeating the class he had missed during the year of treatment.
On the 25th of July 2023, Ansis started to face some complication when passing urine, a 5cm mass was detected next to his bladder and he was referred to the oncology, for further investigation. A biopsy was done, and it was confirmed that the Wilms tumor was back. Again, through government assistance, he was sent to Miot hospital in India where they confirm that it was a tumor 25 cm in size where they manage to shrink it down to 17 cm and for the third time he was operated, and the tumor was successfully removed, and he was put on 6month chemo treatment to get rid of any tumor cells.
He completed his chemo treatment in February 2024, during his review in April 2024, another mass of size 3cm, was growing between his bladder and rectum. He was once again sent to Miot hospital India where they diagnose that it is the Wilms tumor that has come again and for the fourth time, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. He also underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He returned to Seychelles in June 2024, and he is currently undergoing monthly chemo session, which is scheduled until November 2024. The oncologist at MIOT, has advised that he returns in December 2024 for pet scan as this facility is not available in Seychelles.
When I was in India, I was advice that there are other best places for cancer treatment. It was suggested that by their experience in Germany, treatment is very good, but quite expensive. This Is why I wish for assistance from anyone who can assist me, so that I can manage to bring him somewhere else so that I can get other opinions or a permanent cure for him so that one day he will manage to live a normal life as any other children of his age.
We are currently navigating a demanding period of treatment and medical expenses, and your support would significantly alleviate some of these financial burdens. We are seeking sponsorship to help cover costs related to his ongoing medical care, necessary treatments, and any additional needs that arise as he continues his journey toward recovery.
Your generous sponsorship would provide essential resources for Ansis's treatment and offer emotional support and encouragement during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate any contribution you can make, whether financial assistance or any other forms of support.
Thank you for considering our request and for your potential support. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on [email redacted]. I would be more than happy to provide additional details or discuss how you can assist in supporting Ansis through this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
