Alfie's Angels, for the love of our four legged friends

Thank you for visiting our page, my name is Beth and I am fundraising for the animal welfare crisis in Dubai. The amount of neglected, abused, and starving animals I saw on a recent trip was devastating and not something I can turn a blind eye to.
My 'holiday' turned into daily walks to find angels to feed and show some love, fortunately along the way I met a small group of caring and empathetic humans who’ve educated me on the severity of the situation. Animals are moved on from populated tourist areas and dumped in bins, industrial wasteland or the desert to fend for
themselves - essentially, left to die. People move to the country, buy a pet and just abandon them when they leave! They desperate for help and the few shelters that exist are full, there is no RSCPA equivalent and restrictions prevent people from fundraising for animals in Dubai. Recently, it has been deemed 'an offence’ to feed stray animals.
These beautiful humans take it in turns every day to feed as many angels as possible, all the while knowing they are fighting an uphill battle. They pay expensive vet bills out of their own pockets in the hope that the angels can regain health and be fostered to have a chance of life, be loved and respected. Mostly, they have no choice but to send the angels back to the streets but the least we can do is ensure they are in not suffering with health problems.
Please see photos of Sunshine, we found Sunshine close to death on JBR beach while people sunbathed, pointed at her and walked on by. After taking her to the vets, she tested positive for a blood parasite, is severely anaemic and on an IV drip for the next 2 weeks. Collectively, we paid her medical bills and now await news on her recovery.
Alfies Angels aim's to raise funds for the Rusty’s Veterinary clinic and the small community hard at work in Dubai who give a voice to the voiceless and sacrifice their own time and money to give these fluffy angels a chance at life. Even a couple of pounds will provide food for stray animals, there is no such thing as too little! pages like these, raising money for animals are not allowed in Dubai. Over time, we hope to expand awareness, obtain resources and create a network of volunteer angels so together we can make a difference.
The funds collected will be used to primarily pay for vetinary bills and help volunteers with the cost of food. No angel deserves to be living on the street in pain and starving.
When I started to train as a therapist, on my first day a tutor told us this story:
“A boy is walking along a beach after a storm that washed up thousands of starfish. An adult tells the boy that he can't save them all and won't make a difference. The boy picks up a starfish and throws it back into the ocean, saying, "I made a difference to that one".
