Help Bring Iris Home

My name is Samantha Layne. I am fundraising because on September 12th on the way to a hunter pace in Gahanna Ohio, our passenger rear tire blew causing the trailer to eventually come unhitched from the truck, and do a 360* rollover into the median. We were okay and both of the horses were okay besides being sore. My mare Iris was eating and drinking just fine so my vet wasn’t worried and said she would eventually go to the bathroom. She never did and on Monday we ended up taking her to OSU. During their evaluation she was found to have a non-displaced spinal fracture at the lumbar sacral region which is why she can’t use the bathroom on her own. She also sustained a wound to her right hock that without lavage won’t heal properly if at all.  The vets are hopeful that with a few weeks at OSU, her spine will fuse properly and she will regain the ability to use the bathroom on her own again. This mare and I have been together for 14 years. I’ve been her rider since she was 3 years old. We have done many shows, events, trail rides and even swimming together, She has been my confidante and has been with me through thick and thin. She is my everything. Please help me bring my girl home.
