Dan's cancer treatment fund

Hi, my name is Madison Mikaila. I am raising money for my dad, Daniel Delahunt. My father is the most passionate, healthy and empathetic person I know. He is a chiropractor who has truly changed lives and helped many through the years. He has always been passionate about staying healthy. Through the years he ran and coached cross-country…always taken very good care of himself. My dad always has and always will put the needs of others before his own.. and he does it with a smile on his face. That's just one of the many reasons I look up to him, he's my hero. He is an amazing and supportive partner to his significant other, Danielle. Dan and Danielle have been together since 2008. They have a beautiful relationship, and love each other dearly. They are loving parents to their four children, Madison Mikaila, Joseph, Connor, and Jessica. And also wonderful pet parents to their two cats Thor and Floki. Dan has two amazing parents, four awesome siblings, and lots of nieces and nephews. It's really heart-warming to see how loved and cared for my father is by everyone who is lucky enough to meet him.

Back in August of 2021 our family was blindsided by some very devastating news. My dad was diagnosed with melanoma cancer at age 50. This was heartbreaking for our entire family. Nobody expected this to happen to him, because he has always taken very good care of himself. His P.E.T. scan results showed that the cancer had spread to his lymph system. He has already gone through two infusion therapy treatments, and we are all hoping and praying for a full recovery. As you may know, cancer treatment and all of the tests that come along with it can be very expensive and cause a lot of extra stress. Unfortunately, for the time being, my father is unable to continue working the job he loves due to the side effects of his treatment. Some of you may know and understand how stressful it can be to be unable to work while watching medical bills pile up. Our family has come together and we are trying to raise money to help him keep his mind off of the costs associated with his cancer treatment.

My dad has been a huge inspiration to me and how I live my life. He always gives me the best advice and support no matter what. The best piece of advice my dad has ever given me was a very very long time ago. He said, "You need to surround yourself with people you look up to.. people you want to be like." and I will forever and always live by those words. If I could, I'd spend every second of my life around my dad, because I want to be just like him. When I first heard the news about my father I was absolutely crushed. My dad lives in Minnesota and unfortunately I am living a 6 hour car ride away. I visit him as often as I can but it will still never be enough. I honestly couldn't ask for a better dad, it wouldn't even be possible because he's the best there is. And if I had one wish for the rest of my life, I'd be wishing for my dad to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day.
