Guillermo's Year in Mission w/ CFRs

Praise and thanks be to God!

Friends! On August 19th I was blessed in prayer while discerning the will of God for my life. I asked the Lord to show me a way to enter deeper into the depths of His love, to grant me the grace of a pure heart and trustful surrender unto him, and to receive me as his servant according to His purpose…The Lord moves swiftly.

Shortly after my prayer (just a few hours after) I received an invitation to live in a house of discernment for men where I would spend time in prayer, formation, and service to the poor. I have been praying about this for the past few weeks now, and well…

The weekend of September 19th 2015 I will be moving to New York for a year of mission and discernment with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. I will be working with their amazing apostolates Corazon Puro (Pure Heart) and Project Outskirts to promote chastity and the culture of life. And I will have the privilege of serving in homeless shelters and various other forms of outreach and service to the poor and disenfranchised. How good and generous is our God! So Blessed!

My stay there will be very blessed in that I do not have to pay for rent. But I do need to find funding for a $200 monthly maintenence fee, food, personal expenses, and a way to pay off a student loan. Because I have been invited to go now (right in time for the Pope’s visit to New York), inspired by St. Matthews answer to the Lord’s call, I am just going to get up and go. I will be leaving everything here in LA in one week, knowing and trusting that the Lord will make a way.
