Help Restore Joy After Hurricane Helene

Hi, I’m Jenny Ellis, owner and creator of The Artful Chair, in ine River Arts District, in Asheville NC.
As you know, it has been a week since Hurricane Helene turned our world upside down. Nobody knew the impact it would have on Asheville, let alone the creative arts area known as River Arts District, which I have been a member of since 2014. Many artists lost everything! I was fortunate to be above the waterline, but now I have been asked to evacuate the building. My business of chairs, where I poured my passion and creativity, has been severely impacted. Many of my artistic chairs have been, and will be, saved, but the needs have risen to the surface as the days have unfolded.
Many of you have asked, "How can I help?" It is hard to ask for help when I especially am an "I CAN DO IT" kind of gal, or as a creative mind works, "I WILL FIGURE IT OUT." I am reaching out in a time of great need. I know things WILL get better as time heals our people, our hearts, and our land.
Hurricane Helene has devastated not only my business, but my husband has temporarily closed his practice as well. The state of emergency here is pictured like this: no running water, spotty cell service and electricity, gas for cars and long gas lines with cash only, and grocery store shelves empty as soon as they are restocked. Because nobody can guess the timeline for restoration of these things, and for a sense of normalcy, we are humbly asking for your support for relocating my studio and rebuilding our lives. Any donation, no matter what size, will go directly toward restoring my business and covering basic living expenses during this challenging time. With your help, I can get back to doing what I love, creating beautiful Artful Chairs that bring joy to people's homes.
