Hi my name is Spencer,
I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May of 2020 and went in for surgery in September 2020. During surgery the surgeon took out the tumor aggressively to ensure little chance of reoccurrence. It was discovered that I had a pilocytic astrosytoma (a type of brain cancer) during pathology. It was supposed to be a straight forward surgery with a good outcome and a few months in bed. But here I am more than 2 years later, still trying to get back to normal life. I used to be a very active person; rock climbing, hiking, and biking. I really just want to be able to get back to doing the things I love and that bring me joy. I lost my job and my ability to drive. I spend most of my “free” time at rehab or with specialists. According to the National Brain Tumor Society “Today, an estimated 700,000 people in the United States are living with a primary brain tumor, and approximately 88,970 more will be diagnosed in 2022. Brain tumors can be deadly, significantly impact quality of life, and change everything for a patient and their loved ones. They do not discriminate, inflicting men, women, and children of all races and ethnicities.” Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover everything. Any donation will go towards treatment and rehabilitation. Thank you so much for your support!
