Help Bring Gloria Dalit Home – A Tribute to a Loving Mother

Our beloved mother, Gloria Maria Gumban Dalit, passed away on April 10, 2025, in the Philippines after a brave two-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She would have turned 79 on April 20—a milestone we had hoped to celebrate with her.

Gloria was a light in so many lives. Even as Alzheimer's slowly dimmed her memory, she never lost her warm spirit. A simple smile and a gentle “Hi” from her could brighten anyone’s day. That was just who she was—genuinely kind, effortlessly joyful, and endlessly giving.

As a devoted nurse, she worked tirelessly—often two or even three jobs—to give my brother and me the life she never had. She was our provider, protector, and constant source of love. She was also so much more: a champion bowler, a mahjong queen, and a shoe lover who rivaled Imelda Marcos. She found joy in our mini-vacations and the little things in life, making every moment special.

Gloria was a mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, and friend, and now we want to honor her legacy the way she deserves.

We are humbly asking for your help to raise $10,000 to bring her home to the U.S. These funds will help cover the cost of transferring her body from the Philippines, cremation, a memorial service, flowers, and travel expenses for her son, Mark Jon Dalit-Cook, who will be flying to the Philippines to bring her remains home.
