A dear member of our Dream Town Realty Family and of the Chicago community, Nykea Pippion-McGriff, suffered a devastating loss this weekend. For those who may be unaware of the situation, her eldest son's (Xavier Joy) life was tragically and senselessly cut short as he returned home Thursday evening.
Xavier was a graduate of Chicago’s esteemed Whitney Young High School and was an accomplished young athlete. He recently returned to the Chicago area on a mission to give back to the community by teaching and tutoring disadvantaged youths. His untimely death is a true loss to our city, which is so in need of young men determined to make a positive difference.
In addition to words of comfort, we want to provide financial support to Nykea and her family as they prepare to bury their beloved son, pursue matters involved in the investigation, and to assist in covering ongoing family needs in the wake of the void left by their loss.
The celebration of the life of Xavier ). Joy will be held on Friday, June 16th at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, located at 5850 South Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637. Visitation to begin at 11am and services at noon. We hope that you will join us in honoring the memory of Xavier O. Joy.
