I am a hairstylist in California. We were shut down on March 17th. Reopened on June 17th to be shut down again on July 13. My unemployment was stopped without cause. I have a 15 year old boy, mortgage, insurances, salon rent, auto payment, utilities etc to pay. I have taken out a 20k loan for my business expenses but need to be able to keep a roof over my families head and pay my other expenses. I’m at a loss of what to do. My industry is one of the most safe and sanitary places to be. I have been tested 3 times, all negative. The disinfection and sanitation procedures my industry is held accountable for prior to receiving a license and on daily basis does not warrant the closure of our businesses. Is it sanitary to cut hair on a sidewalk or in a parking lot. How about the weather (100+ to rain)? Where is the research showing my industry is a direct cause for the spike in numbers? Please help me keep my home, my salon and be able to pay my bills. With respect and gratitude, Stef
