________
Join XAOC Contemporary Ballet to get up close and personal with the dancers as they perform seven original ballets for you in one of New York City's most beautiful studios, inches from your seat. Hear discussion on the processes behind the choreography and get an inside scoop on creating ballet for freelance artists in a changing cultural climate.  Wine reception to follow the performance.

Funds raised go directly toward production expenses and pay for our artists. Our greatest expense and greatest need is to pay our dancers as they deserve to be paid. Most dancers in New York City, even exquisitely-trained, high-caliber ballerinas, work for extremely low pay to present their art to the world, because ticket fees do not even begin to cover the cost of creating, rehearsing, and presenting new dances. Other production costs include rehearsal space and venue rental, music rights, costumes, pointe shoes, and marketing.

The eleven incredible dancers you will see at Choreography Up Close, Vol. II are rehearsing intensively to provide a performance of truly innovative contemporary ballet work. The choreography has received recognition from organizations like Jacob's Pillow, the North Carolina School of the Arts, Norte Maar, the Edward Villella Choreography Competition, and a large variety of New York City presenters and dance festivals.

We believe there is room for ballet to evolve into the 21st century, led by strong women with a vision of inclusivity, generosity, inventiveness, spirit, humanity, and love. The artists of XAOC Contemporary Ballet seek to use this incredible art form to bring joy and delight to the lives of audiences far and wide. But we can only do it with your help.

Please donate to support these extremely talented and hard-working artists and bring this performance to life!
