Support Xanda Tonge’s Recovery Journey
Our dear friend Xanda Tonge, known for his selflessness, creativity, and vibrant spirit as a videographer and DJ, is facing an unexpected health crisis that has not only impacted his physical wellbeing but also his ability to work and support himself. Xanda, a diabetic with high blood pressure, recently suffered from a severe and unusual injury. Unaware of the danger, he accidentally burned his toe on a heater after moving to a new place. Initially, the burn seemed minor, with blisters forming but causing no pain. Trusting in self-care, he applied ointment, hoping for the best. Unfortunately, the situation worsened when the burn led to an infection that spread to other parts of his toes. Despite the lack of pain, a friend’s urging led him to seek medical advice. At urgent care, the immediate concern shifted to his high blood pressure rather than the injury itself. After being sent home with instructions for care, his condition deteriorated, necessitating a hospital visit. There, despite receiving antibiotics, the infection’s severity led to the difficult decision of amputating his toe to prevent further spread. Now, Xanda is in recovery, unable to work, facing mounting medical bills, and struggling with basic living expenses, including rent and food. We are reaching out to our Facebook family, friends, and anyone touched by Xander’s story to help him through this challenging time. We’ve set up a GoFundMe with a goal of $6,000 to cover his medical expenses, support his living costs during recovery, and help him get back on his feet—both literally and metaphorically.
