Get Karen Well- the fight for life

My Mom, Karen, has been diagnosed with cancer. You never really think it will happen to you, your family, your friend until one day it does. It was Christmas Eve when my Mom noticed what was then a small lump in her breast. She didn't waste anytime scheduling an appointment with her Doctor. We prayed for the best! Her biopsy came back positive for an early stage of breast cancer. I remember telling my Mom, "You are strong and brave. We will beat this!!" A few months past and more tests are completed to determine a treatment plan. We eventually would find out that the cancer spread what was first sought to be an early stage has become significantly different. The cancer was found to be in her uterus and stomach region. Staying strong we fought!! More tests were done and more cancer was found it unfortunately spread to her lymph nodes and bones. My Mom is the bravest person I know she has not once complained as to why this is happening to her, but instead puts all of her energy into beating this! She is approaching her third chemotherapy treatment and remains stronger than ever!! She seems to be responding well to the treatments. She has experienced some side effects from the chemo, but she continues to stay strong. She is such an inspiration and a beautiful person inside and out. She is always so caring even through the worst of times... She has always been there for me and I know the cost of treatments, testing and whatever lies ahead with her ongoing medical treatments will not be cheap. I will continue to keep everyone posted...
