On Wednesday, Sept 18, 2024, what seemed to be a normal and great day for my brother turned into our worst nightmare!! My brother, Ricardo Mendoza, 36 years old, went into cardiac arrest. He was worked on for 15-20 minutes, which led to anoxic brain injury. There is brain damage on both sides of the brain, but he still has stem function. He is on a ventilator. He is unable to talk or move, but he is able to open his eyes. He got a procedure done on Sept 25, 2024, for a tracheostomy and feeding tube. On top of this, he is a dialysis patient.

Our mother is currently not working because of this; she refuses to leave his side as any mother would do. He has a long road ahead. We have faith and hope he will get through this. Our goal is to get him home, and in order to do so, he will need a medical bed and other medical supplies. Gas, food, and bills also need to be paid. Anything is greatly appreciated.
