Update: Fundraising for Caleb's funeral!
This is the go fund me Caleb has had since the beginning, I am not going to make another one just for the funeral. Looking to raise 10,000$! Every donation is much appreciated!!
Hi My name is Destiny, and we are fundraising for Caleb. Cameron and myself started noticing Caleb's eye bulging, face swelling and behavioral changes about 2 weeks ago, took him to the eye Dr June 20th, his eye sight seemed fine but wanted him to go see his primary Dr. On June 22nd Caleb was brought in, and his Dr wanted imaging right away, Caleb was sent to the ER at lakewood where a CT scan was done. There was movement during the CT scan but it did show what appeared to be a mass behind his eye. Caleb was then sent to Childerns Hospital in Minneapolis via ambulance, and from there they performed a sedated MRI on June 23rd and confirmed the mass behind his eye measuring 8cm by 3cm. On June 24th Caleb is having a biopsy done to determine if the tumor is Malignant or Benign.
We are starting what will be a very long journey, anything will help even just a share and a prayer. 18 months or longer with not being able to work, driving back and forth to the cities, staying in Minneapolis for months at a time. Any penny helps!
Update
Caleb has Neuroblastoma, diagnosed with stage 4
-High risk, very aggressive
-Cure Possible with extensive treatment, including Chemo, surgery, transplant, targeted radiation, and antibody therapy.
We are looking at least 18 months worth of treatment.
Survival rate is 50%, after the first 5 years it gets greater, but getting there is a challenge, relapse is very common and once relapsed Survival rate drops extremely
-Primary cancer tumor is on his Adrenal gland, with other spots as well. Large tumor in his skull behind right eye, left eye socket, top of skull, chest, spine, sternum, arms legs, pelvis and liver. It pretty much has spread throughout his entire body and all bones.
-Chemo will help the best for treatment, we should see the best results from that, other treatments will be a plus to keep him from relapsing.
-Also the tumor behind his right eye is crushing his optic nerve, we are hoping with work we can get it back. EDIT: Caleb did lose vision in his right eye.
