Maryam is a licensed mental health counselor who has spent her career helping children and families through trauma and crisis. Now she is the one fighting to rebuild her health while raising her young daughter.
At 32 weeks pregnant, Maryam was diagnosed with five meningiomas (brain tumors). After giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, while still recovering and caring for her newborn baby, she underwent her first craniotomy. The surgery saved her life but left her permanently blind in her left eye. Eight weeks after brain surgery, she began daily proton radiation.
In April 2024, just two weeks after her daughter’s first birthday, Maryam underwent another brain surgery. Then in August 2024, she underwent yet another surgery due to rapid regrowth. She then began a second round of radiation.
Maryam is a fighter but even the strongest person should not have to carry this alone. She is currently medically stable but requires ongoing specialized treatment in Boston.
Maryam also has expenses and legal fees in order to move back to Massachusetts where she will be closer to the hospital and surrounded with the support of her family and friends.
If you are able to give or share, you are helping a devoted mother continue her recovery and build a stable future for her little girl.
Please donate and please share!
