Dear friends and family,

The fight against cancer goes on. There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or a relative who has battled this terrible illness.  I recently have two high school friends who died from cancer and two close friends who are fighting breast cancer.  A nd, my own brother, Edgar, is currently in the hospital   He was hospitalized Mar 4, 2016 and a few days before Holy Week, his prognosis was released - stage 3 lung cancer.  It was quite a hard blow for his family and myself.  I have not recovered from the two deaths, here comes the news about my brother.  Few days ago, I found out  that two of my closest friends are battling  breast cancer.  

My brother and his family live in the province of Bicol, Philippines.  Edgar is 55 years old.  He has a wife, Nelly, of 20+years and two children, Cindy and Denden.   Nelly is a housewife. Cindy manages their small store and Denden lives in the USA with his wife, Doreen.  Denden has been mainly the financier of his dad's  medications which were all bought on  cash basis.  When I left Bicol two weeks ago, the total amount of medications had gone up to  200K pesos for less than a month.   I thought of this fundraising to help Denden because he voiced out that he is now unable to support his dad's intravenous chemotherapy which will cost about 70K pesos per session.  Denden's wife, Doreen, is 3 months pregnant..that's the other reason he needs my help.  As I wrote this,  hospital bills continue to pile up.   I tried to help financially but not as much as I wanted to since my husband is on fixed income and he is a mild stroke patient.    I am currently selling my house, working on government charity supports, asking close friends, and now this fundraiser.  I am not about to give up hope on my brother.  I love him dearly.  With all of these going on, I continue to beg God for healing for Edgar, body, mind and spirit.  I am currently looking at other alternative ways of therapy that does not kill Edgar's good cells.  I have talked to a consultant - a general surgeon at Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou who suggested Intra Arterial Therapy and Cryotherapy, which, of course, would costs much more than intravenous chemotherapy.  With this procedure, I am looking at initial treatment of about 490K pesos, which I don't have.  But, with your help, the cost of my house, government help and most important God's help and mercy, this is ALL achievable.  I go where God leads me.  As there is nothing impossible with God (Luke 1:37). Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."   I lift up and offer all works to Him who makes ALL THINGS POSSIBLE.    God gives Edgar the hope and the courage to fight this debilitating disease.  I will not  let this illness cripple my love for my brother Edgar by not doing anything.  I won't let this disease shatter my brother's hope, corrode his faith, eat away his peace, our peace and destroy our confidence. I absolutely cannot let this disease quench away my happy spirit or my brother's .  And, most of all, i will not let this disease shut out good memories of my healthy brother and invade his soul.  This illness absolutely cannot reduce eternal life and lessen the power of the resurrection.
