Help Phoenix Rise

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Beth and I am organizing this fundraiser for the Hatch family. Phoenix Hatch is a remarkable ten year old girl with Marshall Smith Syndrome. This is an ultra rare syndrome and it comes with many medical complications. These medical complications have not stopped Phoenix from being a happy little girl who loves life.
To know Phoenix is to love her. Her smile could brighten any situation.

Phoenix has had many surgeries and medical procedures in her short life. Her latest surgery was a big one. Her talented surgeons corrected her kyphosis and scoliosis with a halo placement and spinal fusion surgery.

On August 10th Phoenix had a Halo placement to begin the long process of correcting her scoliosis and kyphosis. For two weeks that added weights to her halo in preparation for spinal fusion surgery on August 30th. Surgery was done to correct the spine. It was a long initial surgery that had a few complications. Phoenix was not responding to stimulus in her arms and legs. They went in the next day with the hope to correct the loss of stimulus.

Phoenix and Georgina still remain at Children’s of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Phoenix is making progress every day and working very hard in OT and PT to regain the use of her arms and legs. If you know Phoenix and her family you know they never give up. Phoenix shows us everyday what true strength and bravery looks like.

We are anxious for Phoenix to come home. Phoenix’s dad, Carlin and brother CJ are at home in Door County. This hospital stay has been hard on the family. But as always they are making the best of a difficult situation. Carlin is working and CJ is a third grader and the best brother a girl could ask for.

At this point Phoenix has been in the hospital for two months. We don’t know when she will return home. But we do know we want to be ready for when that happens. Phoenix is going to require more care and equipment than she did before.

The Hatch family is hard working and has always navigated through their situation with determination and grace. I know that they are not ones to ask for help. So I am asking for them. This last year has resulted in loss of income and the last thing anyone who is going through a difficult medical situation needs is financial worry.

I am asking you to consider helping this incredible family so we can ensure Phe has everything she needs to rise through this situation. And she will rise.❤️
