My name is Michelle and i rescued my first cat 43 years ago when i was 11 years old. Since then i have rescued and rehomed around 200 cats and kept 42. I rescued Monkeys mum, Tink, in 2013. She was roughly 6/7 months old and heavily pregnant. It was the first and only litter i've had. Monkey was the runt of 4 and i didn't expect him to live. Sadly it was the firstborn that died but the others lived and thrived. They will be 13 in april 26. On 1/9/2025 Monkey had to have emergency sugery for a bladder blockage. It was touch and go and I and the vet team did not expect him to make it. He had his catheter removed on 4/9/2025 and by 8/9 his bloods were back within the normal range and he was pretty much back to his normal bright, happy self. However, on 15/9/2025 he was reblocked and had to have emergency surgery again. He did much better during the GA that time and his xray showed no stones but a bit of sludge and crystals at the very end of his urethra but otherwise clear. The vet was happy with the outcome and it all seemed quite optimistic. 24 hours later though he still hadn't wee'd so i took him back. His bladder wasn't full but she said he would definitely need a wee by today 17/9 otherwise his only option would be a penile urethrostomy or pts. I work but i am not on a great income, no savings and don't have insurance due having 10 animals at present. The operation costs thousands and my vets would want at least half up front and the rest on completion. I simply cannot raise that sort of money in time. Other than this issue Monkey is a healthy, bright and funny little man. It is breaking my heart that he might have to be pts just because i haven't got enough money. If you could help i am more than willing to pay the full amount for the operation. I just can't do it all at once.

The money will be used for a penile urethrostomy which will stop the problem reoccuring.
