A little help goes a long way

I don’t really know where to start , as this disease is affecting so many people I know right now . It is absolutely heartbreaking

my little bestie is trying to be so strong but I know it breaks her everyday . So here we go ….

10 weeks ago Hollie found a lump in her left breast thinking it was fatty tissue from losing so much weight. She went to the doctors and was referred down to the mermaid centre where she had mammograms and biopsies to then be called back 2 weeks later to be told she had grade 3 herz 2 positive breast cancer which is a rapid spreading cancer.

Over the last few weeks it has grown in size. Over numerous appointments she has been given a treatment plan of 18 weeks of chemotherapy every 3 weeks and after the treatment has finished she will have a surgery 6 weeks after.

Over the course of treatment ect Hollie is unable to work due to risk of infection, which means no income .Universal credit have given her £0 even though she has put in a sick note she didn’t meet her “working money target” . MacMillan has stated that she is not entitled to certain benefits so as friends, we are asking for friends and community in Bodmin and surrounding to make a small donation or if you aren’t able to make a donation if you could share this. Nothing is too small to help out.

Hollie has not asked us to do this however we have seen how stressed out she has been and we want to help her out as she is self employed and due to circumstances, she is unable to work meaning she has no income. We want to make sure she can keep a roof over her head as well as continuing to provide for herself as well as her son.
