Jai's fingers cut off in horrific mower accident.

Hands-on Aussie, business owner, well loved member of the local community, passionate karting racer and aspiring race car driver suffered a horrific ride-on mower accident.

I'm Jai Buckley, 23 years old and on Friday 16/12/22 I suffered a horrific life-changing hand injury that has left me with 2 of my fingers being amputated and 1 finger undergoing significant reconstruction surgery.

It was extremely scary and brutal, clutching onto what was left of my fingers trying to stop the bleeding as it gushed from my hand. It was a long brave wait for the ambulance, to the hospital and for surgery.

These injuries have occured on my dominant hand - right index amputation, middle finger amputation & severe damage and reconstruction to my ring finger. 

As a result of this I will be left with lifelong, life-changing injuries. I have a long journey to recover physically and mentally, and am going to need all the help I can get to make life possible.

I worked for myself as a new small business owner doing ride-on mower sales and servicing as well as selling firewood in my local community. Both of my jobs are extremely hands-on which has now left me out of work and at a massive loss of income. Not only has my injuries affected my work but has also put a massive roadblock on my passion and hobby of karting and racing. 

I am going to need ongoing medical attention, physiotherapy, pain management, and psychology just to name a few, due to the traumatic events of my injury, and these all come with a cost. Life does not stop for anything and the bills still need to be paid. I will be unable to work for the next 6+ months under doctor's orders, laying the burden and stress of financial hardship on myself and family, wondering how we are going to keep ourselves afloat. It is a tough time and to have this a week before Christmas is devastating.

I am asking for help to raise funds for all medical costs and to ease the burden of the day-to-day costs and bills.
