On September 19th, I will be undergoing surgery for a total hysterectomy to treat a host of unruly uterine fibroids (non-cancerous tumors).

While I'm grateful that a hysterectomy is an option, it's not one that I'm personally excited for. However it is currently the only option I have to 'cure' a chronic health condition.

This operation will put me out of work for 6 weeks, and as a low-income earner, this puts me in a financially difficult situation: temporary disability will offer me a fraction of my earnings.

I'm tackling a deep fear, and am asking for help, so that I can recover without looming financial stress.
