Hi, my name is Jake (he/they), I’m a transmasc educator, scholar, and artist currently based in Davis, California. I’ve made the decision to undergo top surgery, have had a consult with a surgeon I really trust, and am scheduling my appointment with the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco for this April!

While I’m incredibly excited and eager for my first-ever shirtless summer, achieving this goal also requires overcoming the American healthcare system. My immediate fundraising goal is $800 as a deposit to secure my surgery appointment and date. While my insurance is covering some of the costs of surgery, all funds raised beyond my immediate goal will go towards paying the additional $4,500 that surgery will cost. My dream goal is $6,000, which will not only cover my surgery deposit, surgery costs, but also pay for my girlfriend and best friend to take time off work to care for me after surgery. Pictured above is my care team, who are helping me coordinate this GoFundMe and will be taking care of me as I heal. Any unused funds or money raised above my fundraising goal will be donated to Trans Lifeline, a crisis hotline run by and for trans people that has provided free and direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis since 2014.
