Wendy Borden's Memorial
On June 15th, 2015, my mother Wendy Ann Borden passed away. She was found in the comfort of her own bed by her very close roommate and friend.
My mom was born on November 20th, 1962 to Charleen and Herbert Borden. She was one of three children, her brothers being Craig Borden and Brian Borden.
She was a smart, caring woman that really knew what needed to be done. As such, she spent much of her life working in retail management jobs, her last of which was at Petco.
She sustained an injury to her ankle, which made walking and working very difficult. Unfortunately, life became rather difficult for her at this point. Despite the constant struggles that life would throw at her, she did her best to stay positive and bring smiles to everyone else's faces. In times of sorrow and need, she'd go out of her way to put her problems aside to try and be there for you if you needed it.
My mom spent the last year or two, heavily devoted into her church and newfound dedication to Jesus. She spent her days volunteering in a homeless shelter, giving back to the community of Redlands. She devoted her days to that, and touched many people.
The last time I spoke with her, and saw her, was for this last mother's day. I took her to Red Lobster, watched a movie, and she watched the Anaheim Ducks game with me. Hadn't shared anything like that with her in a long time, and it was a joyous time. My favorite part being when we were watching the game, and I said we were going to take a picture. She said okay, and proceeded to pose like this. I couldn't help but laugh. Never thought that would be the last I'd get to talk to her, so unexpectedly.
I found out about this tragic incident while I was at work. I'm tasked with doing all of the planning and facilitating of funeral costs and what needs to be done. So far, it looks like it'll be somewhere around $1100, give or take. I'm never one to ask for help, but it seems there is overwhelming support to help my family and I in this difficult time, so here goes.
Please give your prayers to my family at the very least.
Thank you all for your kindness and support.
