Medical Supplies for Lunndu Village
Donation protected
In Short: A friend of mine (my Tanzanian father) approached me with a request for assistance in raising money to purchase medical supplies for a very small, extremly remote village in southern Tanzania. So here I am - asking family, friends and strangers to lend a hand to make a HUGE difference to those less fortunate than ourselves!! If you would like more information regarding the man, the village or the cause please read on.
The Man
Meet Oddo Ndonde, an inspirational man working hard to better the lives of those less fortunate than himself.

I have known Oddo since my first trip to Tanzania in November 2011 and have experienced first hand his selfless nature and the tireless work he does to ensure a better life for for his fellow countrymen.
Oddo was born in the area of Songea in southern Tanzania and now lives with his wife and children in Usa River in northern Tanzania where he is baba (father) to the many underprivelidged children living at Tumaini Children's Foundation . Oddo travels to Songea to visit his family and lend a hand where able to.
The Village
Mid last year Oddo travelled to Lunndu Village, Songea where he was confronted with the dire situation that the 3000 locals are facing.
Lunndu Village is located along Lake Nyasa and is one of the poorest villages in the region namely due to the poor roads which in rainy season make it almost impossible to get to/from the village.
The Cause
The village has a very small dispensary that the missionaries of Benedict Father built many years ago, however the dispensary is no longer stocked. The closest hospital (which would not be called such by western standards) takes one whole day by foot to reach.
This harsh reality means that many people die on their walk to the hospital or in the village because they are too weak to even attempt the journey.
A group of local nuns have offered to provide first aid to the villagers, however as the dispensary is bare of supplies their ability to provide life saving care is very limited.
I like you can not imagine how difficult life would be under these circumstances - I am absolutely saddened by this and am trying to do anything I can to help out.
The figure of $2000 is based off a quote from a trusted local Doctor in Usa River who will buy us the supplies at wholesale price plus a little extra to cover the travel costs for Oddo to take the supplies to the remote village.

I am headed back to Tanzania on 21st March 2016 and would absolutely LOVE to be able to have the money to go with Oddo to purchase the supplies.
Any questions please feel free to contact me!
