Urgent surgery for King

Dear friends & to anyone this may reach,

We write this with heavy but hopeful hearts. If you know anything about the Hernandez family then you most definitely have heard of King, our beloved puppy brother &  parents only “son”. Without searching he stumbled into our lives 8 years ago & has completely taken over our hearts since then. Well to the point where 99.9% of the time there’s any type of family outing/celebration, the venue has to be pet friendly to include him. King is more than a pet though, he’s a part of our family.

Unfortunately, during his daily demanded rub down from mom, a lump was discovered on his neck. After two weeks of Dr visits, tests & x-rays the mass has been confirmed as a Thyroid Gland tumor. This is a tumor that’s rarely ever benign. Good news is x-rays have also confirmed it hasn't spread, giving us the option of surgery & a good chance of an average of 3 more years with King. The bad news is there’s only a limited amount of time to take action.

While we are lucky to have caught it fairly early, the location of this tumor & complexity for this type of surgery comes with a price tag. To be completely transparent, x-rays also confirmed the wires from a previous surgery to his leg in ‘13 have to be removed but our top priority is the tumor. The cost of the “2nd” surgery will not be included in this but in hopes that the thyroid surgery will be performed, we will then make the decision to include this while he’s already under.

If you’re lucky enough to have actually met this fur ball of a character or have experienced him through our socials, you’d understand why we are coming to you for help. We knew he would one day cross the rainbow bridge but not this soon & not if we can prevent it.
