I am starting a gofundme page for my best friend Tammy McCoy. Due to an Unfortunate event on Feb 28th/2022 (her birthday), her husband William was found deceased. At the young age of 34, he had passed away from a severe seizure in his sleep. Unfortunately, she is on ODSP (Ontario disability) and can not afford his cremation. He was also on ODSP and never contributed to CPP, so she gets no benefits whatsoever from the government. They have a son who is turning 11 years old in May. Because He had told her he had life insurance and she told the funeral home, they put in the paperwork to the government that he had life insurance because she had to say to them how she was paying right away or they would not cremate him. When she got ahold of his bank, after much frustration, the bank told her it was only accidentally death insurance, so she will not see a dime. Due to the paperwork already being sent to the government, they will not help her, and now she is responsible for the cost. Being on ODSP and a single parent of a 10year old with special needs, she can not afford $4500. Even doing a payment plan. With cost of living and everything else is completely difficult for her. Any amount will be greatly apreciated. If there is anything leftover it will go into a college fund for her son Nicholas. Please help. This is such a heart breaking story. I wish I could pay for it myself but I myself can not afford this.
