One of Us
This morning, Zeke Brinker, a 22 year old with an unforgettable smile and positive attitude sustained life-threatening injuries. Zeke was crossing the road this morning around 1am when he was struck by a vehicle. Zeke was badly injured and rushed to UMC Main hospital. Zeke's family met him at the hospital but by this time he was on life support. Zeke is an integral member of our staff and team. He was hired recently as a Hall Monitor on our behavioral health unit. Not only was he a good worker, but he also was the son of one of our Certified Nursing Assistants, Ezekiel Alvarez. The news of this accident has been felt by the entire staff here at Sapphire. Many people are asking how to reach out and help the family that is now going through the worst thing a family ever could, losing a loved one. We are all deeply saddened by this event- so the best thing that we can do is to pull together as a team and show Zeke and his family that we will be there for them throughout this entire journey.
We will be accepting cash donations in Zeke's name for his family and the medical expenses through the Business office at Sapphire of Tucson Nursing and Rehab. We will be accepting any and all donations through this site to give directly to the family as well.
Fundraising events also to come at the building in hopes that Zeke's family does not have to worry about finances in the least bit.
Anything will help, even the smallest amount. Please share this as many times as possible so that we can extend out support throughout all of Tucson.
