Starting in February, my brother, Josh, started experiencing severe back pain he thought was caused by an injury at work. He had to be off work due to the extreme pain and immobility. He immediately started seeing doctors, but they kept putting him off. His symptoms progressively got worse, and he ended up having to use a walker just to get around, with paralysis in his left hand and right leg, and constant pain. After being seen in Muscogee for an EMG on 04/16/25, they stated he needed to be transferred to St. Francis in Tulsa and a bed would be waiting. We are on day 12, and they’re now transferring him to OU Medical where they have more knowledgeable doctors. At this time, we know a few things: he has a bulging disc that requires surgery, but that can’t be done because he also has blood clots in his lungs. They think the disc may be causing the leg paralysis but not the hand. Still unsure on that. They have also diagnosed him with a blood disorder called hemolytic anemia. Still lots of questions with minimal answers. His wife is staying home and continuing to work as their income has been reduced greatly due to Josh being off since February.
I know times are tough for everyone right now, but if God lays it on your heart to even give $1, we all would greatly appreciate it! Regardless, please keep him and his family in your prayers.
