Support Rebecca's Dancing for YWAM

Hello everyone!
My name is Rebecca Rey and there are two things that stir my heart most in this world; the first being Jesus Christ, and the second being dance. Both play major roles in my life but for many years I kept my relationship with Jesus and my dancing separate, believing I didn’t have room in my heart for both. Upon realizing that doing so was hindering my walk with the Lord, I finally handed dance over to Him. Since then, God has slowly been revealing to me that with Him as number one in my life, He can use the passion I have for dance in a greater way than I ever imagined.
As I look back and see where God has led me, I have no doubt that He has called me into a ministry of dance. Over the last year, I have begun to learn what that looks like by exercising my artistic abilities in the church. I have been blessed with performing, choreography, and leadership opportunities; all of which have brought me closer to God and a newfound joy in glorifying His name through dance. God has used me and my talents in ways I never even thought possible, and now He is calling me into even more. An opportunity has opened up for me to join Youth With a Mission (YWAM) and be a part of what they are doing globally. I have been accepted into their Performing Arts Discipleship Training School, a program designed to lead you into a more intimate relationship with Christ as you go deep and wide with your faith and artistry. My journey with YWAM will begin April 7th, 2016 where I will spend 12 weeks at their base with a team of believers and artists like myself. There we will learn how to use our gifts for God’s kingdom in the most effective way possible. We will then set out to share what we’ve learned with an 11-week performance tour in countries we prayerfully choose. This will give us the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in places untouched by the gospel as we give Him our talents to use for His glory and plan of redemption.
I truly believe dance is a powerful tool that can be used in communicating the gospel. My heart is overjoyed at just the thought of playing a part in how God is using this beautiful art form to change lives. However, this is something I cannot do on my own. Therefore, I am reaching out for support in two ways. First, I ask for prayer in both preparing for this journey and my time there. I believe in the power of prayer and that this cannot happen without God, so I invite you to come alongside me and ask Him to do BIG things. Second, I am asking for financial support and that you prayerfully consider donating so that I may be able to participate in this incredible opportunity. My goal of $11,000 will go towards the cost of the program, food, lodging, and traveling expenses. Please keep in mind that every donation, no matter how big or small, counts and can go a long way!
