Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
On Wednesday, May 1st, Tim went into the emergency room with abdominal pain. Thinking the pain was related to appendicitis, kidney stones, or bad sushi, he was shocked to hear the words “you have cancer.”
A CT scan found a tumor in his colon which appears to have metastasized to his liver, lymph nodes, and adrenal glands. Doctors quickly determined it was inoperable. On Friday, May 3rd, Tim had an ileostomy to alleviate some of the pain he was experiencing, and, once he heals from that, the plan is to begin chemotherapy.
This devastating news has not only shaken Tim to his core but has also thrown him and his family into a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty.
Tim is a father to two incredible children, Piper and Jaxon. Piper is 12 years old, wise beyond her years, and Jaxon is 9, full of energy and curiosity. His significant other, Lisa, is standing strong by his side. They are his world, his reason for fighting, and his greatest motivation to overcome this battle.
As so many of us know, nothing is more terrifying than facing a life-threatening illness, especially when it threatens to take you away from your young children. The thought of not being there for them as they grow up, not being able to provide for them, and not being able to witness all the milestones and moments that every parent dreams of is unbearable.
While there is hope, the road ahead is long and filled with countless expenses, difficult to cover when one doesn’t know what tomorrow will bring. To add to this, Tim has been unemployed for the last several months, and while he is determined to continue looking for work, he also realizes the complexity of the situation.
This is why I'm humbly reaching out to you today, asking for your support in Tim’s time of need. Any generous donations will not only help alleviate the financial burden of medical bills but will also ensure that Piper and Jaxon have a stable and safe home, no matter what the outcome of this battle may be.
Every dollar, every share, and every word of encouragement makes a difference. Together, we can give Piper and Jaxon the gift of hope, love, and the reassurance that they will always be taken care of, no matter what life throws their way.
With deepest gratitude,
Katie
