Help Us Get Back on Our Feet After a Year of Heartbreak & Vet Bills
The past few months have been the hardest of our lives.
First, we lost our beloved dog Lucky to a brain tumour. We fought for him as best we could, but the vet expenses and the heartbreak took their toll. Then, hoping to start a happier chapter, we welcomed Milo, our cheeky, loving Border Terrier puppy, into our lives.
But just weeks later, disaster struck again. Milo fractured his tibia in a freak accident. His leg had to be plated and pinned. He’s now on strict 24/7 crate and bed rest while he recovers. We’re working around the clock to care for him, and relying heavily on family for help, all while trying to keep our jobs afloat.
Insurance won’t cover the costs because of the strange timing. His old policy ended and the new one started on the very same day as the accident, leaving us uncovered. We’ve paid for Milo’s surgery in full, but between his care and the costs we’re still carrying from Lucky’s illness, we’re now £13,000 down.
We are on a low income and we have maxed our overdrafts and credit cards just keeping our dogs cared for and alive. Now we’re facing the reality that we can’t cover rent, council tax, food shopping, or other bills this month. The stress and strain on our mental health have been overwhelming, but we’re still pushing forward because Milo is worth it.
We are only asking for enough to cover Milo’s recent vet bills and help get us back on our feet. Even a little would mean the world to us. Every pound helps keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and a safe recovery for Milo.
Milo is such a happy, gentle soul despite everything. He loves everyone he meets, and we just want to give him the happy, healthy life he deserves.
