Damani Mauge Funeral

Damani was a kind and loving older brother to his 2 siblings who both looked up to and loved him.

He was a responsible young man who worked for a children's entertainment company.  He was an easy going young man with many friends who loved and respected him for being funny, kind and supportive. 

Damani was a promising athlete who loved playing basketball and running. A keen sprinter, Damani raced for the Croydon Harriers and held a 100 - metre personal best of 11.7 seconds!  He played a vital part of a gold medal winning relay team at the 2016 London Youth Games, Damani was the second fastest runner in the Croydon borough. Damani also competed and won at the Olympic Stadium as part of the Under 15 boy's 200m. Damani had such a bright and promising future ahead of him.

On Sunday 8th March 2020, Damani was on his way home from work, when he was drawn into an altercation which sadly ended in Damani being stabbed and killed, he was only 17 years old.


The sudden death of any loved one comes with a tremendous emotional cost. To have such a young, vibrant and promising life stolen away, under such horrifically violent and painful circumstances, is extraordinarily overwhelming. The entire family are totally broken. Damani’s parents are in absolute shock and, while trying to negotiate the massive void that has entered their life by losing their son, they are now left with the fretful financial burden of having to lay their son in his final resting place.

On behalf of Damani's father David, and the entire family, I ask you to please offer your support, no matter how small, to help towards the cost of the burial of our young prince Damani.
