Thank you for visiting the Go Fund Me page for our precious loving boy, Rocket. We got our boy at just 8 weeks old and have loved him so much ever since. Rocket has had a tough time for the past 4-5 months or so, first coming down with Giardia and 2 months later coming down with suspected pneumonia. After rounds of antibiotics and rest and he seemed back to normal. This past Monday February 10th however, I took him for his normal walk with his brother and Rocket just could not keep up. We had just got out the door and he was already out of breath. He wasnt himself. I took him to the vet where he had a high fever of 104° and was extremely dehydrated. His blood work was showing a dangerously low platelet, red blood cell and white blood cell count. We took him to the emergency hospital to begin more intensive treatment and testing. The first night his RBC dropped 20%. He was given a bone marrow test yesterday, Tuesday February 11th. His bone marrow was so incredibly dry and the slides following were very concerning, as they were showing no white blood cells. The results for the liquid portion of the bone marrow came back today, and it appears as if the cells are attacking each other. The WBC seem to be eating the RBC and they end up wiping each other out. He is in complete isolation at the hospital to ensure he is safe from catching anything from other animals, but of course there is always a risk. It does not seem to be cancer but he is experiencing a very complicated bone marrow issue and his survival rate is not looking the best. We have to wait at least 7 days for results from the core of the bone marrow, to show us more details on his condition before a course of action can be taken. He will be in the hospital overnight until at least Friday, and then we may be able to take him home until we get the marrow results next week. He is on nuepogen once a day to help his body try and make white blood cells and he is on antibiotics. He is having his red blood cell count taken twice a day to ensure it is not dropping. There is still a chance he will require a blood transfusion if his RBC hits the low 20s or high teens, right now he is at at a stable 33. Today he has been regurgitating as he walks and there has been some blood so he is on two more medications to coat his stomach. It is a waiting game now. We are heartbroken but trying to stay strong and hopeful for him. We are moving tomorrow into a new home that has a big yard especially for him and his brother and all we want is for him to enjoy it and live a long happy life. He is in good spirits considering what is happening. He is only 1 year and 6months old. We cannot bear to lose him just yet. He is not ready and neither are we. We need to save him. Our pet insurance has an annual limit of $7k that we have had to pay out of pocket first, before we are reimbursed. His vet bills have exceeded that and as of yesterday we were around $10k. With 2 more overnight stays, his daily neupogen for the next 7 days at over $200 an injection, and his constant blood checks, fluids, blood pressure fees, nursing care fees, antibiotics, marrow testing etc. We are expecting to be at around at least $15k by this weekend. He may need to stay overnight again next week depending on how he does, he will need constant blood checks and still a possible blood transfusion. Once we get some answers with the bone marrow results we are hoping there is a treatment plan, but we only expect the fees to continue rising. He could have an autoimmune disease, myelofibrosis, or a number of other things.

Please, we are asking you to help us. Every dollar helps, it has reached a point where we are financially worried for continuing his needed care and testing to save our boys life. If there are any funds leftover that are not used directly for Rockets care, they will be donated to local animal shelters.  If you cannot donate please share. We will update as much as possible.

Thank you everyone ♡
