My name is Teresa Hawkins and I am Mikey’s Aunty (his mum is my sister). I have set up this page to help my whanau bring our Mikey home.
He was taken from us on Sunday 15th March 2020 in Adelaide where he lived for the past 8 years. He was a legendary league player a father to 4 children, a son to John and Moeroa and a brother to Curtis, Tessa, Hayley, Tegan, Pearl and Te Ropiha. He was also an uncle, a cousin, a friend and he touched the hearts of many throughout his 34 years of living.
Receiving the news of our sudden loss we desire to bring Mikey back to be with whanau in his homeland - Aotearoa. (New Zealand). Here we will have a funeral service (limited by the coronavirus) and have the opportunity to lay him to rest here with us.
Any donations will go towards covering the costs to bring Mikey home and any costs associated with his funeral and supporting his kids in the future.
