Help us fight our legal battle to stay in the U.S.

Donation protected
To our family and friends,

This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to face, but this is the reality of our life.

Angel and I have been going through the process of obtaining a green card from immigration for almost 3 years now. On April 24, 2019, Angel was denied that privilege. Instead, we have been notified that the federal government wants to deport my husband to his country of nationality.

This is the absolute scariest thing we have ever had to face, individually and as a couple. We are devastated and feel defeated. Dealing with this situation has taken an emotional tole on the both of us. I have lost countless nights of sleep because of the nightmares I face that my husband may be taken away from me. I have been a complete wreck, unable to hold back the tears. The unknown of starting a life elsewhere is an extremely terrifying thought. The U.S. is our home, and we have built such a beautiful life here together. We do not want to leave our family and friends. We do not want to leave our animals and possessions behind. We do not want to start over. We can not afford it, nor do we have the strength. The past few weeks have been the lowest I have ever felt, and the thought of Angel leaving and never returning has consumed my every thought. Each day gets harder to face, but I know that I must remain strong for myself and for my husband. Nothing will ever tear us apart, not even the cruelty of this decision. This is the reality of an unfair and broken system, that cares less about families by deporting brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, and even imprisoning children in immigration detention centers. We have seen it before in the news, but never thought we would be subjected to it first hand.

We have spent many hours contemplating whether we should hire legal counsel to represent us, or pack up our lives and start over somewhere new. The urgency of this case is truly petrifying. We are drained emotionally and financially. Hiring representation and fighting this battle does not guarantee us anything. There are no promises that appealing this decision will allow my husband to lawfully work and live in the U.S., but we have decided to take that risk. We are willing to fight to stay in this country and be together.

With that being said, we have set up this account, in hopes of obtaining any monetary assistance that we can to aid us in paying for our legal representation. This journey is not going to be an easy one for us. It's going to take 2-5 years time. It’s going to be expensive and intensive. We are aware of the emotional investment we are about to embark on, but we are ready to fight. We realize that not everyone is in a place to contribute to our battle, but we feel that we must ask for any help that we can get. We also ask that anyone reading this shares our story.

Thank you in advance to any one and everyone that is willing to contribute and/or share our story. We have a long road ahead of us and we couldn’t do it without all of you.

Love to all,
Arial and Angel
