As a dedicated school social worker, I have recently transitioned from working in elementary schools to serving in secondary schools. This new role has opened my eyes to the urgent and growing needs of students at the middle and high school levels. Many of these students require not only basic school supplies, but also specialized educational materials that foster academic success, social-emotional growth, and equitable access to learning.

Unfortunately, I am starting this school year with minimal tools, limited curriculum resources, and insufficient supplies to effectively support the wide range of goals necessary to meet my students’ needs. From creating safe and welcoming spaces to providing materials for special education and social-emotional learning, the demand far outweighs what is currently available.
