One year of medication for Mike

Hello, and thank you for visiting my page.

I am reaching out to you to explain my story and why I need help. I will tell you a little history first without going to much into the gross detail. When I was 12 years old I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. For those who dont know, it's an Auto-Immune disease that attacks the entire G.I. track, for which there is no cure. It is, however, managable for some. I wasnt the luckiest person dealing with this. From age 12 to 25 I went through every medication type and brand they have. Every time my immune system would either create severe side effects to the point I was taken off, or create antibodies and prevent the medication from continuing to work. With a stroke of luck, on the last medication on the list for me to try, I finally found a medication that works called Humira, and untill recently, my health has been improving.

That brings us to the now. I recently turned 26 and switched from my parents health insurance to the one provided by the company I work for. Here is where things get interesting. I work full time as a Universal Banker for a large bank with full benefits. Even so, the medication I am on went from $40 a month, to $1675 a month... Which I cant afford alone. Let alone trying to pay for rent, food, etc. The longer I wait to take it the more chance I give my imune system to build anti-bodies and the less likely it will work when i get back on it. The first thing I did was get in contact with the manufacturer, who has agreed to pay $800 a month! Which is awesome! but that still leaves $875 a month. After that I applied for Medicade, DSHS Medical, CVS Finacial Hardhsip Program, and countless non profits, none which "I qualify" for.

Here is where you come in, the amount I am asking for will cover my medication for a little over a year, just up untill the Patent on humira runs out so it will hopefully become more affordable and I will be okay to afford it for the rest of my life.

This doesnt, however, cover lab work, scheduled colonoscopies, endoscopies, MRI's etc which are a regular part of my year. So if any extra help would be appreciated.

Bottom line is if I cant afford this medication soon, it will most likely stop working, and then I have no other option.

Thank you for your time and if you cant help finacially please spread the word.
