From One Mama (Lumi) & Her Kittens to Others in Need
Donation protected
She didn’t have a name when she first showed up — just a stray cat who came to my door.
I started feeding her. She had clearly chosen me.
I had a feeling she might be pregnant… and yep, I was right.
When she went into labor, it was difficult — for both of us.
She didn’t respond to her first kitten, so I stepped in. (I cut the first umbilical cord myself ).
Something still felt off, so I rushed her to the emergency vet (on a Sunday night!). Thankfully, they were open. With their help, she gave birth to three more — all safe and healthy.
That night was intense, emotional… and expensive.
Since then, it’s been full-on kitten life.
Lumi was nursing around the clock, and I was hand-feeding her at first because she wouldn’t leave their side. She ate so much just to keep up — I couldn’t believe how much one little cat could eat!
Now the kittens are eating on their own… which means even more food, more mess, and constant cleaning.
As much as I’ve fallen in love with them (yes, I’ve thought about keeping them all ), I’ll be finding them safe, loving homes.
The funds will help with food, dewormer, vaccines, spay/neuter — and when the time comes, getting Lumi fixed too so she can safely enjoy her freedom again.
I’ve also had another stray (Nala) spayed, and I’d love to help a few more in my neighborhood if I can. The basics alone — food, litter, aftercare — add up fast.
This GoFundMe will help cover:
• Emergency vet care & supplies
• Daily kitten care (they eat — and poop — a lot! :)
• Vaccines, dewormer & sterilization
• Spaying Lumi
• Helping a few more local strays
It’s been a lot — beautiful, intense, and a big stretch. Any support truly helps.
Thank you!!
With love,
