Hi my name is Laura and I am fundraising along with Diana (Justin’s Mom) to help support Justin, Stephanie, Griffin, Braxton, Cooper and Jack while they devote every possible moment to helping their sweet baby girl and little sister get well. As many of you already know, Claire is very sick.

From her parents, here is a note on Claire’s current condition and journey these past few weeks. Early Wednesday morning on 11/9/22, we rushed Claire to the ambulatory care for trouble breathing. While there, she had a very scary apneic event which led her to be life flighted to St. Rita's. From St. Rita's, she was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. While waiting in the ED for a room in ICU, she had another apneic event which led her a quick transfer to the ICU to be emergently intubated and put on a vent. She was also placed in a medically induced coma, which she is still currently in. From then she has been up and down. She was placed on a different vent on Tuesday, known as an oscillator, due to her poor oxygenation and alarming blood gases. She has had several touch and go moments but is so strong and she continues to fight and inspire everyone around her.

Claire has tested positive for three viruses (Rhinovirus, Parainfluenza and Adenovirus) and is now battling viral and bacterial pneumonia on top of them. The doctor told us her lungs are extremely sick and will take weeks to recover.

Steph and Justin are amazing parents and are not leaving Claire’s bedside. They will be facing numerous medical bills on top of their everyday expenses involved with being away from home and raising 5 kiddos. This holiday season let’s continue to inspire them with hope, support, and help them not worry so much about things here at home!
