Hello Family and Friends,
I am trying to help my best friends, Robin and Bill Blankinship. Very recently, their son William Blankinship ( 14 ) was diagnosed with cancer, Ewing's Sarcoma. This type of cancer is very rare and occurs mainly in young adolescent boys. It is treatable but very extensive in nature. William has been admitted to the hospital for some biopsy surgeries and to begin chemo. His treatment will be 40 WEEKS long and he will be in and out of the hospital depending on how he responds. He will need surgery at some point to remove the very large tumor that is entangled around his spine. The prognosis is positive and William is in good spirits. He has been taken out of school for now and is bummed that he won't get to start high school as a freshman in the fall.
This whole thing hit the Blankinship family like a Mac truck. One day William is playing basketball and the next he is in the hospital. It came on hard and fast. The expenses will be huge as we are quickly finding out. Insurance won't cover everything and Bill will miss lots of work and let's not forget gas is $6 a gallon which is adding up fast going back and forth from the hospital. It's going to be a long year for this family and they need all the help and support they can get. William and his family are amazing and wonderful people. Please do what you can for them. If you know what kind of family they are, then you would know they would be the first people to help any of us. Many Blessings to us all!
