Hi this is Rebecca. Here is my jouney....
I found out in May 2015 that I had a mass near my abdomin that needed to be looked at. I had a CAT scan and an MRI to try and find out what it was. I also found out I had an Umbilical Cord Hernia. I was scheduled to have a full hysterectomy and hernia repair September 2, 2015.
When they removed the tumor and did what they call a "cold biopsy ", they came with the news that I had ovarian cancer. What shock to hear! They removed most of the tumor except for a piece that had attached to my colon wall.
I started my 18 week chemotherapy journey October 23rd 2015. I have completed 4 weeks with 14 to go. They tell me my sucess rate for my type of treatment is 80%. WOW...80%. I go every Friday and am very blessed for the support each week from my Oncologist, nurses, volunteers and my ladies that take me to treatment.
They are telling I will develo horrible fatigue which could really bring me down about half way through treatment. They also say work might not be something I can do. I am doing my best to work now, but am not working close to my normal hours.
My family is asking for your help. Bills are adding up and my income is less than half of what I bring in. Any donation will go to covering my portion of our personal bills, hospital, doctor and medication expenses. Anything is appreciated as our family goes through this.
