My name is Beth Jones, for those of you that don't know I am Bentley's great aunt. Bentley is a sweet, adorable 2 year old little girl who was taken to the emergency room 2 weeks ago for abdominal pain and blood in her urine. After much testing, we were told that she has a tumor on her kidney and the kidney would have to be removed. She was moved to the hematology/oncology unit at Dayton Children's. After additional testing, it looked like the cancer had not spread to any other organs. Bentley had surgery this past Wednesday October 13th and they were able to remove the kidney without the tumor inside rupturing. They did a biopsy on the tumor as well as several lymph nodes. The biopsy results of the tumor is a Wilms tumor which is a cancerous tumor also called nephroblastoma. We are still waiting to hear the biopsy results of the lymph nodes. So far we know that Bentley will likely require a port and chemotherapy and she has a long road ahead of her, but she is a strong little girl and we believe that she will beat this! We are asking for help for her and her parents to get through this financially as mom was already working 2 jobs and will not be able to work at this time. We appreciate all of the love, support and prayers from everyone during this difficult time. Ali and Tyler are so overwhelmed by the outreach of support from everyone and they would never ask anyone for money and I know that they are going to have financial needs that cannot be met at this time. We will continue to update you on this page with any updates going forward. Thank you all so much, if you can't give financially, please keep praying!
