Hi, my name is Lou and I have set this fundraiser up for my beautiful Auntie Michelle who is fighting brain cancer, glioblastoma.
Michelle’s battle against brain cancer started in August 2025, when she became unwell whilst working as a community carer. Unfortunately an MRI scan revealed Michelle had a lesion on her brain, she then underwent brain surgery to remove as much of the tumour as they could. A biopsy then confirmed the type of tumour, glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Michelle then had an intensive course of radiotherapy and another operation to drain fluid from her brain.
Glioblastoma treatment and research is very limited and underfunded, standard treatment offered through the NHS just isn’t enough to control this type of tumour, and alternative treatment is needed which we have to fund ourselves.
Michelle is currently on many tablets alongside Sativex, a trial treatment to prove effective in glioblastoma patients. This treatment isn’t cheap, and is currently being funded by Michelle’s family alone. We are hoping for the support of friends, family and kind strangers, whether you are able to donate towards Michelle’s Go Fund Me, or just share the link so we can spread her story as far as we can❤️
We recently received the sad news that Michelle’s tumour is growing, so it’s more important now than ever that we are able to continue funding Michelle’s treatment and create precious memories. The money raised will go towards her treatment each month, and to any trips/activities Michelle would like to do❤️
