On October 1st, my world turned upside down when I lost my mom to cervical cancer. She was my everything, my biggest supporter, my safe place, and the person I thought I’d have by my side for so much longer.

Being only 18, I never imagined I’d have to navigate something like this so soon. Just a few weeks ago, I also lost my grandma, so the weight of it all has been so heavy and more than I ever thought I’d have to carry at this age.

Right now, I’m faced with trying to give my mom the funeral and goodbye she deserves, but the truth is I don’t have the resources to cover it on my own. I am just starting out in life, and it’s a humbling place to be. Asking for help is not easy, but I know my mom touched many lives and would want to be remembered with love and dignity.
