As some of you know, our dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer late October 2016. He immediatley began chemotherapy to start fighting off the disease. Every other week, he received a chemo treatment. For the following 72 hours, he was hooked up to a pump that fed the chemicals into his body. He ate, slept, breathed chemo for the next three days straight, every other week, for three months. Despite these circumstances, our dad never missed work if he didn't have to. He worked the morning of his treatments, and immediatley went back to work after he was plugged into the pump. Long story short, our dad continues working through the pain, just to keep the lights on for us. He, without a doubt, is our hero.
Our dad will be undergoing surgery Feburary 7. Following surgery, he will be undergoing more rounds of chemo. He will be in the hospital for seven days post-surgery and in recovery for four weeks. Unfortunatley, this will take a huge financial and emotional toll on our family. Our mom can't afford to miss work, so I will be driving back from New Hampshire and my sister will be flying in from Ohio to be with our dad. We have had an overwhelming amount of support thus far, and your support means more to us than you will ever know. My sister and I are making this page to try and take some stress off of our parents. Sadly, school and work prevent us from staying home the four weeks of recovery, so we are hoping to raise enough money so our mom can afford to take some time off of work to be with our dad and make these next four weeks a little less stressful.
Our parents aren't ones to ask for help, so we decided to step in when times got tough. Thank you for taking the time to read, share, or donate.
With LOTS of love,
Jessica and MacKenzie Clarke
