Update: Gus required the same surgery again today. He was transferred to a critical care facility and is awaiting a substantially more invasive surgery to modify his anatomy to prevent this from happening again. Times are tough but so is he. He is in good hands and his big surgery will be either Monday or Tuesday. Anything helps even a share!
Hi everyone,
While we were traveling out of town, our sweet cat Gus had a second urinary blockage and needed emergency surgery. This was sudden, scary, and heartbreaking and the cost ended up being more than we anticipated. With the stress of an upcoming move, the unexpected expenses are really starting to pile up.
Gus is almost four and truly the heart of our home. He wins over everyone he meets even the people who are a little taken aback by his unique look at first. He’s a total lovebug: always purring, head-butting for affection, and never once has he hissed or bitten. He lives with his older brother Walter (a Sphynx cat) and two dog sisters, and together they’re the funniest, most chaotic, and most loving little family.
I know some people have strong opinions about how much we care for our animals, but to me, they’re family. I’ll always do what’s best for them. If you’re able to help, even a little, it means the world to us. And if not, just sharing this helps more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Gus sends head butts and purrs your way.
