Harry Averell Support Fund

I write this with a very heavy heart in hope that my community will cradle us through this difficult time.

In the last month my family and I have received some very shocking news. My father, Harry Averell, age 54 was diagnosed with colon cancer which has now spread to his liver.

Many of you know how much my father means to me and how much he influences my life. He has not only been a great father but also an unbelievable guide in my life and to others!  He has shown me courage in the face of addiction, taught me forgiveness, and been a true example of what it looks like to turn your life around for the better. He is truely an inspiration to many. 

He has spent the last 13 years re-building himself after addiction, volunteering in the community, coaching basketball, and touching the lives of many with his smile and kind heart. Not to mention, he has been the best father any child could ever know, and I am grateful to be here for him in his time of need. 

I am asking our community to please show support, in whatever way you can, to my dad who is about to undergo intensive treatment.  He may not be able to work at times and some of us might have to stop working to take care of him. We also hope to raise money to support other alternative treatments that might assist him in his healing. 

Any amount you can donate is appreciated. Any kind words will be soaked up like sunshine for potential cloudy days ahead. 

We ask you to stay positive and see him as healing.
